Senior In-House Counsel (Fintech)

This role sits at the core of a fast-scaling fintech business, focused on mitigating legal risk across global operations while enabling commercial growth. As the commercial legal lead for the Americas time zone, you will own the full contract lifecycle, lead complex negotiations, support litigation and emerging disputes, and provide clear, pragmatic guidance at the intersection of regulation and business objectives. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will make critical decisions that directly influence how the business builds and scales.

Beyond day-to-day execution, the role plays a key part in developing scalable legal infrastructure, including contract frameworks, governance processes, and the use of AI-driven tools to enhance efficiency. You will collaborate with global teams while serving as the primary legal contact within your time zone, ensuring seamless support in a dynamic environment.

Requirements:

• University degree in law with at least six (6) years’ PQE in corporate or commercial law, with a solid foundation in contract drafting and negotiation.
• Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory developments in the fintech industry.
• Awareness of risk assessment skills and competence in offering data-oriented legal guidance.
• Expertise in complex technological and financial systems and their interactions with law.
• Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills to communicate complex legal concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
