Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to support its Caribbean offices (Cayman & BVI) across key practice areas: Dispute Resolution, Private Wealth, Regulatory, and Local Legal Services.
 
This is a dynamic, hands-on role focused on delivering strategic BD initiatives, supporting partner engagement, and raising the firm’s profile through events, thought leadership, and client relationship management.
 
Key Responsibilities:
•    Deliver and manage BD plans and budgets across core practice areas
•    Coordinate pitches, proposals, and legal directory submissions (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500)
•    Plan and execute events, BD trips, sponsorships, and client engagements
•    Support cross-practice collaboration and CRM/database development
•    Ensure marketing and digital collateral remains current and effective
 
Requirements / Qualifications:
•    5+ years’ BD experience in a professional services environment
•    University Degree strongly preferred 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Highly organised, proactive, and collaborative
•    Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines
•    CRM (e.g., InterAction) and event management experience highly desirable 
•    Strong judgment and demonstrable track record for confidently suggesting well-reasoned, independent strategic recommendations and ideas

Senior Business Development Executive

A global firm is seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to join its Business Development & Marketing team in the Cayman Islands.

This role provides comprehensive support to the firm’s practice groups, helping to maintain and grow client relationships while strengthening referral networks. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategic plans that align with the firm’s objectives, in collaboration with Partners, and will also be expected to analyze and identify new business opportunities, enhance cross-selling efforts, and analyze market trends to inform business strategies.

The Senior Business Development Executive will also create engaging marketing content, oversee conferences, seminars, and client events, coordinate legal directory submissions, and prepare pitches for new business.

This position requires a proactive and strategic approach, ensuring that fee earners are engaged in BD initiatives and that all efforts contribute to the firm’s wider success.

Requirements:

  • Law firm experience, as well as a professional qualification in Marketing, Business or a related field is preferred.
  • Over five years’ experience in a marketing and/or business development role in professional services with knowledge of the finance/legal industry.
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to understand and respond to the needs of internal stakeholders.
  • A team player with the ability to build relationships within the BD & Marketing team locally and globally.
  • The ability to build networks with partners and staff at all levels across the organization and influence effectively.
  • Strong event management and sponsorship activation experience.
  • Experience with InterAction or similar CRM systems; with experience in maximizing the data value, as well as being highly proficient in MS applications (Work, Excel and PowerPoint).
