Manager, Trust Control

Reporting to the Head of Trust Control, this role is responsible for ensuring that the control functions are carried out in strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices, with a primary focus on overseeing financial crime and fiduciary periodic review processes.

The Manager, Trust Control will assume responsibility for managing the periodic review cycle to ensure deadlines are met, identifying and escalating any risks or compliance concerns, and monitoring their resolution, while also providing training and guidance to junior team members. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to maintain and enhance the procedures manual, develop and implement testing programmes, and support the development of risk assessment and mitigation processes.

The successful candidate will liaise closely with the Compliance Department to reassess client risk ratings, oversee first-line quality assurance testing, and provide ongoing support to Relationship Managers, while supervising and developing the Trust Control Team.

Requirements:

• Minimum of ten years’ experience in Trust and Company Administration.
• STEP qualified or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of AML regulations and Trustee and Director responsibilities.
• The ability to review a customer structure and identify any potential risks associated with that structure, be they fiduciary, regulatory, AML, reputational, actual, or potential financial losses or breaches.
• The ability to identify more complex matters, identify any potential problems and reach a suitable conclusion as to how the problem may be solved.
• An understanding of the regulatory environment will be required to effectively discharge duties with minimal reference to other members of the Risk Team.
