Senior In-House Counsel (Fintech)

We are seeking a Senior In-House Counsel to join a leading fintech company with a boutique presence in the Cayman Islands.

In this role, you will play a key part in managing legal disputes, complaints, and investigations, safeguarding the organization’s integrity and regulatory standing. Responsibilities include assessing and resolving complex matters, leading detailed investigations, ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks, and implementing preventative measures to mitigate future risk.

Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will prepare comprehensive reports, deliver training on complaint handling best practices, and represent the organization in legal proceedings and negotiations. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills and offers the opportunity to influence risk management, strengthen compliance practices, and protect the organization’s reputation in a highly regulated environment.

Requirements:

• University degree in law with at least ten (10) years of experience in a corporate legal environment.
• Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory developments in the fintech industry.
• Awareness of risk assessment skills and competence in offering data-oriented legal guidance.
• Expertise in complex technological and financial systems and their interactions with law.
• Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills to communicate complex legal concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
