Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Associate with a Barrister background to join a well renowned leading international law firm based in the Cayman Islands.

The successful candidate will take on the responsibility of conducting litigation and insolvency matters, including advocacy, across various areas.

The ideal candidate will have experience in handling complex financial disputes, major commercial litigation, cross-border issues, contentious insolvency, restructuring matters, asset tracing, and recovery actions.

Additionally, the candidate must possess exceptional academic and professional credentials, as well as a proven track record in client retention and build on current relationships, attracting future work and client referrals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·         Conduct litigation and insolvency matters, including advocacy, in diverse areas such as complex financial disputes, major commercial litigation, cross-border issues, contentious insolvency, restructuring matters, asset tracing, and recovery actions.

 

·         Demonstrate proficiency in marketing and engaging in business development initiatives to attract new clients and retain existing ones.

 

·         Manage a substantial caseload with minimal supervision while ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of legal services.

 

·         Work effectively as part of a larger team, collaborating with colleagues and other professionals to achieve client objectives.

 

·         Supervise and manage other individuals working on assigned files, including articled clerks and junior associates, providing training and mentorship as needed.

 

·         Participate in article writing and presentations to enhance the firm’s thought leadership and visibility in relevant legal domains.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

·         Minimum 5 years PQE.

·         Legal Qualification with a Barrister background with outstanding technical skills particularly in respect of drafting pleadings and skeleton arguments.

·         Proven experience in conducting litigation and insolvency matters, with a focus on complex financial disputes and commercial litigation.

 

·         Excellent academic record and professional credentials.

·         Ability to manage a large caseload efficiently and effectively, with meticulous attention to detail.

 

·         Exceptional communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

·         Leadership abilities, including the capacity to mentor and supervise junior colleagues.
