Financial Administrator (Temp-Perm)

Job Purpose:

The role of the Financial Administrator is to work collaboratively with the central finance team to ensure that all accounting systems of the department are properly structured and all financial related, day to day operations of the accounting section are managed in an efficient and effective manner.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Prepare and manage the annual budget.

·         Supervise small team of officers in financial matters.

·         Analyse expenditure trends for budget preparation.

·         Ensure timely completion of monthly financial reviews.

·         Coordinate with HR & Information Manager on payroll.

·         Approve purchase orders and validate invoices.

·         Manage revenue receipt and deposit.

·         Advise HOD on staff duties and structure.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

·         Plan, organize, and monitor financial activities.

·         Prepare annual budget statements.

·         Provide output data for billings.

·         Maintain fixed assets register.

·         Oversee month-end reporting.

·         Ensure compliance with financial regulations.

·         Liaise with Finance Reporting Team.

·         Manage financial file system.

·         Prepare documents as required.

 

Assignment and Planning:

·         Work under minimal supervision to meet deadlines.

·         Supervision of Others

·         Supervise three Accounts Officers and motivate them to achieve goals.

·         Other Working Relationships:

·         Close collaboration with CFO and Finance Team.

·         Direct contact with government agencies, auditors, and vendors.

·         Decision Making Authority and Controls:

·         Make day-to-day decisions within guidelines; refer to CFO for major matters.

·         Problem/Key Features:

·         Manage financial information efficiently.

·         Implement requirements of PMFL with change management skills.

·         Work under pressure with excellent planning and time management.

 

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with 4 years of experience, or Associate Degree with 8 years of experience.

·         Experience with IRIS and Counterpoint preferred.

·         Knowledge of PMFL and IPSAS.

·         Supervisory experience required.

·         Strong analytical and Microsoft Office skills.

·         Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
