The AML Compliance Associate acts as an AML/KYC point of contact for clients providing initial guidance on due diligence and AML/KYC related matters. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the collection of customer due diligence and updates client AML/KYC records per company policies and procedures. Key duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as a point of contact for clients in onboarding, and AML/KYC related matters for existing customers.
  • Update system data to support the AML Team functions.
  • Process new account applications and prepare initial risk assessments.
  • Collect due diligence documentation and reference materials.
  • Correctly apply regulatory AML/CFT due diligence requirements and exemptions where appropriate.
  • Investigate all queries while continuously focusing on mitigating AML/CFT risk and escalating to the senior management as appropriate.
  • Review daily screening hits against OFAC/ World Compliance lists and provides recommendations to senior management where appropriate.
  • Keep abreast of all regulatory changes.
  • Manage relationships with various applicants for business, clients, and partners.
Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree or other relevant academic qualifications.
  • ACAMS or ICA Compliance/AML Certificate a plus.
  • 1-2 years’ financial services experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory measures issued by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, especially the guidance notes on the prevention and detection of money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing in the Cayman Islands.
  • Well-developed organizational, oral and written communication skills.
