We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary for a 12 month fixed term contract to join our client’s Corporate team,  a leading and award winning law firm in their Cayman Islands office. 
 
Responsibilities:
•    Drafting and proof-reading legal documentation and reports making amendments as necessary
•    Typing correspondence and legal paperwork
•    Responding to internal and external telephone enquiries
•    Maintaining calendars and schedules
•    Managing files and the completion of documents
•    Completing company searches and conflict checks
•    Filing and recordkeeping
•    Creating and formatting presentations and reports as required in accordance with brand guidelines
•    Organising travel arrangements
•    Arranging and assisting with marketing/client events
•    Invoice processing
•    Performing everyday secretarial duties
 
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Assisting in the creation of new clients / matters on Document Management system (DMS)
•    Adding partner and fee earner contacts and ensuring data is up-to-date to include accurate profiling of contacts
•    Adding partner and fee earner marketing & business development (M&BD) activities to their contacts list
•    Arrange the opening, closing and archiving of accounts and files
 
Requirements:
•    At least 3 years’ experience in a secretarial role, including recent experience in a secretarial role within a law firm
•    Experience with electronic document management systems such as iManage, client management systems and Microsoft office applications.  Experience of 3E and Intapp would be advantageous
•    Good writing and proofreading skills and excellent attention to detail
•    Prior experience in preparing complex and properly formatted documents
The ability to work with minimal supervision and be committed to providing a high level of client service
•    A team oriented and flexible approach to working in a fast-paced environment

Legal Secretary

Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join its dynamic and fast-paced team, providing dedicated support to multiple Partners and Attorneys. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with strong communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.

The successful incumbent will be required to manage billing and collections, schedule meetings and travel, coordinate conference calls, and liaise with government agencies and clients where necessary. The Legal Secretary will be responsible for assisting with filings, maintaining organized document and client management systems, preparing presentations and proposals, and handling special projects as needed. 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience and prior experience at a law firm is essential.
  • A degree, legal secretarial, paralegal and/or project management qualification would be advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, iManage, Billing and CRM systems, and experience of Aderant is preferred.
  • The ability to multitask, handle a full caseload, and a typing speed of 70 WPM.
