Affinity Recruitment has be engaged by a reputable business to assist in their search for a Wedding and Special Events Planner!
The successful applicant will be responsible for the business development in the Special Events Department – this includes, making sales calls, creating proposals and meeting with clients and vendors to plan events.
Key Responsibilities include:
-Have complete product knowledge of all of the business’ products and services;
-Work towards achieving agreed-upon sales targets within the Special Events division;
-Coordinate and plan weddings, private and corporate events according to budget;
Design and produce creative sales proposals to clients including preparation of concise quotes and final billing;
-Costing and booking of products, vendors, venues, and labour in accordance with budget demands;
-Provide full on-site coordination of all events, working with design and production crews;
-Ensure the smooth execution of events to the quality standards, and within cost, parameters agreed upon with clients, based on the correct and complete information being communicated in a timely manner to all relevant departments;
-Improve rates of converting inquiries to sales;
-Attend Special Events meetings to report on work contributions, progress, and concerns;
-Compare and analyze actual versus budgeted expenses;
-Provide feedback to Marketing on the effectiveness of the campaigns and tools developed;
-Ensure, in association with the Sales & Events Administrator, that all paperwork is completed, billing is current and final payments are collected;
-Maintain confidentiality of all the business’ clients, and information at all times;
-Strong knowledge of the in-house computer programs such as Fusion and Counterpoint;
-Be an ambassador for and positively represent the company to clients, potential clients, and the general public;
-Contribute to the Special Events Sales team by actively seeking new means of generating income;
-Building and mainlining client relations;
-Building and maintain vendor and partner relations.
Requirements:
-5 years’ relevant experience in wedding, sales and special events;
-Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and coordinate various projects and teams simultaneously;
-Proven track record of strong selling and negotiating skills, with attention to detail;
-Ability to establish key contacts and generate business within the local corporate & social market.
In return, a base salary of CI $30,000 – CI $35,000 will be offered per year commensurate with experience and qualifications plus a competitive bonus structure.
