Affinity Recruitment has been engaged by a highly reputable organization to assist in their search for an IT Support Technician.
This is a technical position that requires the holder to provide the highest level of IT support to the departments. The post holder is required at all times to provide technical support to staff and other users of IT related systems.
Provide general desktop support for staff (includes hardware, software, basic telephony and connectivity) troubleshooting and diagnosing problems within the department;
Manage use of video conferencing facilities;
Provide preventative maintenance to all computer equipment and related hardware;
Co-ordinate and execute the configuration and deployment of computer equipment including personal computer, terminals, printers, cabling and other communication equipment;
Perform any other duties which may be required from time to time.
Associate Degree, or Diploma in Information Technology, with 2 – 4 years relevant experience OR mature entrants with 1 years of relevant experience;
A minimum of entry level to 1 – 2 years’ experience in IT support;
Must possess Desktop Support skills;
Should have a fairly good understanding of the following: Windows, Windows 7/10 Microsoft Office, TC/IP, Hardware Support and Maintenance, basic Network Support and Maintenance, Structured Cabling, Diagnostics and Troubleshooting;
Ability to learn and absorb new knowledge and information quickly and apply it in a timely manner, particularly under deadline pressure;
The post holder should be able to address queries that are submitted through an automated request system on a daily basis (and also by telephone) in an efficient manner taking advice from the Manager when required
Post holder should be highly self-motivated.
