Affinity Recruitment has been engaged by a highly reputable financial services organization to assist in their search for an IT Administrator.

The role of the IT Administrator is to manage the communication lines between the technology department and the business units by managing the technical tickets in the Tier 1 queue of the ticketing system, providing administrative support to the Technology Department, and ensuring all involved parties are kept informed at all times.


Ensure that ticket assignments will maximize efficiency. Escalate tickets to the relevant level if required;
Appropriately action all calls that come to the help desk line;
Stay up to date with all relevant technology hardware and software in order to provide the first level of support;
Analyze help desk processes and identify areas for improvement;
Share relevant knowledge with team members. Identify areas that users struggle with and create tutorials to be placed in the technology KB;
Work as an active team member of the team towards achieving the team strategy;
Gain knowledge from team members above them and assist team members alongside them;
Ensure they are working and conforming to the process and procedures that are in place in the IT department;
Ensure that they are continuously learning and communicating with their manager;
Ensure that the work they carry out is to the best of their ability and that the focus is on quality not quantity;
Ensure that the entire ticket life cycle is carried out with the highest level of customer service through appropriate communication;
Keep users up to date with relevant communication.
Ensure that the user is kept as the most important element in the cycle;
Follow all technology processes correctly and adhere to any checklists put in place.


High School Diploma. Bachelors or Associates degree preferred.
Computer related certificates such as A+ is preferred.
At least 2 years’ experience using Windows XP / Windows 7, and the MS Office 2007 suite, i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Access.
