The Assistant Compliance Officer will report to the Chief Compliance Officer/MLRO, who is a senior officer of the bank, elected by the board of directors.

Duties will include:
Ensure compliance with the law (Cayman and Brazil);
Assist in the periodic review and update compliance related policies and procedures to ensure that policies are adequate and in compliance with applicable Cayman Islands laws and regulations;
Assist in the execution of the Compliance Training Programs to address all policies and procedures, as well as all applicable Cayman Islands laws and regulations;
Compile and maintain training materials and conduct training sessions for all employees;
Assist with the coordination of all regulatory agency examinations, external and internal audits and preparing materials for Head Office;
Assist with all compliance and risk management related issues that may arise from time to time from departments within Private Banking;
Research and respond to compliance-related questions from management, using internal and/or external legal counsel, compliance library and regulatory reference materials, regulatory agencies and professional compliance associates.
Review new client and existing relationships, for KYC and/or EDD for sign-off purposes;
Assist in the investigation of Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR);
Providing anonymous, effective processes for receiving complaints from employees;
Internal compliance review and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews of departments;
FATCA/CRS.

Position requirements:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 2-5 years of direct regulatory compliance.
Working knowledge of the various laws and regulations is required (Cayman and Brazil).
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to deal effectively with all levels of management.
Strong research, computer, analytical and project management skills.
Fluent in Spanish/Portuguese would be ideal.
