About the Role:
The successful candidate will assume a key role in the Company and will report to the Manager, Private Client Trusts and be responsible for the management of a large trust portfolio as well as managing staff. The successful candidate must be either (i) a qualified trust lawyer (called to the bar in a Commonwealth Jurisdiction and in good standing) and have at least 3+ years relevant portfolio management experience or (ii) have a degree/vocational qualification and be STEP qualified with at least 8 years relevant experience administering and managing a portfolio of multi-jurisdictional trusts and companies
Job Duties in Brief:
Managing a large private client multi jurisdiction trust portfolio;
Administering underlying companies based in the BVI, Bahamas and Cayman;
Liaising with local and international legal professionals, as well as client liaison and support;
Drafting routine trust and corporate documents;
Reviewing bank statements and portfolio performance reviews ;
Preparing annual billing and responsibility for collection;
Representing the private clients team at industry events and assisting with local marketing activities;
Making key fiduciary decisions on a daily basis; and
Managing staff, reporting KPIs and completing staff performance reviews.
Possess a thorough working knowledge of corporate and trust laws and equitable principles as applied in a multi-jurisdictional context:
Working knowledge of Bahamas, BVI, Cayman, New Zealand, Wyoming and UK governed law trust structures would be a distinct advantage;
Experience with tax driven structures such as Split Trusts or Capital/Income splits;
Experience conducting portfolio performance reviews and financial statements;
Experience with the AEOI regimes;
Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills; and
Ability to work independently and in a team.
