About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join a well renowned leading international law firm based in their Dispute Resolution Practice Group in their offices in The Cayman Islands!

 

 The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting attorneys and ensuring the smooth operation of the legal proceedings within the firm.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Liaise with local and internal clientele, as well as other contacts including the Courts Office, to facilitate seamless communication and coordination.

·         Assist in preparing court bundles, including case retrieval, photocopying, organizing, and indexing to ensure efficient handling of legal documents.

·         Coordinate appointments and travel arrangements, manage attorney diaries, and handle scheduling tasks.

·         Prepare monthly invoices, process expenses, and assist with client onboarding to maintain financial records accurately.

·         Manage files and assist in the recovery of accounts receivable to uphold financial integrity.

·         Handle routine correspondence on behalf of attorneys and assist in drafting legal documents to support legal proceedings.

·         Input daily time records accurately, transcribe correspondence as needed, and ensure compliance with court deadlines.

·         Ensuring court deadlines are met and relevant fees are settled promptly to ensure smooth legal proceedings.

 

 

Requirements:

·         Minimum of three years relevant secretarial experience within a law firm environment.

·         Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

·         Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

·         Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite and capable of fast and accurate data input.

·         High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.

·         Team player with the capacity to collaborate effectively.

·         Preferred knowledge of the FSD (Financial Services Division of the Grand Court) and Grand Court rules and procedures.

·         Working knowledge of AdEx and iManage would be advantageous.

·         Familiarity with Interaction software would be an asset.
