Fiduciary Manager

Our multinational client are searching for an experienced fiduciary professional to provide oversight to their well-established team.

The Fiduciary Manager will have overall responsibility for the monitoring of accounting, financial reporting and transfer agency functions and processes as performed by the business, in line with established work practices and procedures.

Key Duties:

  • Participate in the development and oversight of new business conversion plans and coordinate the ongoing delivery of trust services (including fund administration, accounting, and transfer agency functions);
  • Serve as a Trust Committee member and organize, attend and lead client trust meetings as a representative of the trustee with affiliated and third party service providers in attendance;
  • Monitor and review outsourced services of the sub-administrators to ensure adherence with established work practices and procedures;
  • Periodic review of net asset valuations and client reports and the review of the audited annual financial statements and local government filings;
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing procedures in compliance with FACTA and CRS and ensuring compliance with established internal controls and deadlines;
  • Monitor and review outsourced services of third party investment managers to ensure adherence with fund’s investment mandate;
  • Conduct due diligence reviews to the various outsourced offices remotely or onsite, as deemed necessary by the business unit;
  • Responsible for the supervision of a group of Fund Analysts, and help coordinate workloads on a regular basis;
  • Responsible for the oversight and approval of fund distribution calculations and operating expense calculations;
  • Provide support, advice and guidance on funds and trusts from an operational and fiduciary oversight perspective;
  • Recognize and bring to management’s attention certain risks that that need to be mitigated and suggest remedial actions where possible;
  • Liaise with fund sponsors, legal teams, investment managers, local regulators, and other intermediaries;
  • Work in conjunction with the General Manager to manage business development process (from proposal to take-on) and the winding down process as it relates to fund accounting, transfer agency, investment mandate and audit and financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • An internationally recognized accounting qualification with at least two years of post-qualification audit experience, preferably in the fund industry, in one of the big four audit firms;
  • At least two years of fund accounting/administration experience or relevant fiduciary oversight role in the financial services industry, specifically the Cayman Islands;
  • A comprehensive understanding of trusts and fund structures;
  • Must have knowledge of U.S. and International GAAP, worldwide investment products, complex financial instruments including derivative products and global securities markets;
  • A thorough understanding of investment products and working towards a CFA designation would be advantageous;
  • Knowledge of Cayman regulatory governance as well as the Cayman Islands Investment Fund and Trust industry will be an advantage;
  • Strong project management, organizational and interpersonal skills and excellent English verbal and written communication are essential.
